My experience in MAHARASTRA

I had started from chennai on 19th of November 2007 to Pune thro spice jet flight, Cliamte in pune in this period of time is really pleasent, By reaching to pune airport i had been experiencing language problem, most of the auto / taxi drivers talk only on marathi.

with My minimum Hindi I could manage to get an prepaid auto to my customer place @ kondwa. auto driver was not good in hindi (or i might not able to understand) still he is able to drop me at the right place.

After completing my work I Planned to leave for Kolhapur which is around 250+ kilometers from pune.

I checked with local private bus operators, booking agent near Natraj hotel @ swargate has offered me an ticket for kolhapur in MAHAMAYEE travels.

Without having Idea about the pickp up point of the bus with my local friend support i have reached to the boarding point. Awaiting for more than one hour at around 8.30 Pm the bus arrived and bus looked fine.

Bus started by 9Pm with good speed it started mooving on the roads of city.

Untill crossing the city no problem was there. The bus operator tried to play some movie where his DVD player was not supporting him several time hanged and all passengers shouted at him to stop.

Bus started to pass thro ghat section the driver must be drunk or he want to make his last drive, he was driving like on the roads to hell.

Windows on the bus or started severe noice and chill air started troubling us. I could able to cover with my shawl (blanket) which i have brought. Speed not reduced for more than an hour.

Bus stoped for an dinner break. The motel was really nice with hygenic condition and menu cards in english / hindi. south indian food like ldly, ootapam /poori paji was availlable. I completed my dinner with poori and cup of milk (the quantity was too high).

Bus started it journey againt towards kolhapur with trembling speed and noice, at an point of time we felt that we may get into accident.

At last i have reached kolhapur by 12.30. I was checking for my regular hotel like HOTEL PARTH near central bus stand which is no vaccancy, tried with few more hotels like Yatri nivas / Ranjith. Finally got accomadated in Hotel Vijayaraj Near Tara Rani Park.

The hotel is nice with nominal tariff of Rs. 750 for double room non A/C. The hotel dosen't have restaurant facility still he managed to get it out sourced. I could manage with the delicious marathi dish "POHA" and "CHAI" (tea).

for the day and next I had fully occupied schedule of work.

I managed to get my tickets in Konduskar travels to Nagpur which is around 800 Km from kolhapur.

I took the bus and for wonder the bus travels the full stretch of Maharastra.

The bus crossed sangli, solapur and in late night bus stopped for food in some jungle.

Motel was ok and served typical north indian dishes. took some poori paji.

The bearer was forcing us for having alcohal. which he was selling in grey market.

after completing our food i came back and found the door of bus is closed. We have been punished in the open atmosphere with chilled air.

with a break of 30 min. driver came and opened the doors.

With my pity language i made him to understand for removing my shawl (blanket). he was cursing me since i delayed bit.

bus started and went nice (some disturbance due to video).
